Engineering work requires focus. It takes a while for people to be "in the zone". That's easier outside the office. Fewer interruptions = higher quality work.

Nobody likes commuting. A little flexibility goes a long way to keep people happy and motivated.

100x larger talent pool = better hires, if you know what you're doing. Retention is higher because employers can offer better work-life integration.
Both factors provide a huge competitive advantage.

While we believe remote-first is ideal (and it's what we do internally), we know some people prefer to be in the office occasionally.
Sitting in the same room with other people can make work better in some ways. Onboarding can be faster. Brainstorming can be more fun. It's easier to build deeper relationships.
